Champions of Carbon Neutrality project, of which our organisation was a partner, was successfully completed within the scope of Erasmus+ programme between September 23-29, 2024. This youth exchange project, hosted by Aksaray University, aimed to ensure that young people take an active role in the fight against climate change and brought together 42 young people from Turkiye, Spain, Italy, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Latvia and France.
Throughout the project, young people gained in-depth knowledge about sustainable lifestyles and environmental responsibilities by participating in interactive activities such as Carbon Market Simulation Game, Creative Waste Recycling Competition and Green City Design Competition. Through workshops and group activities, they learnt how to reduce their carbon footprint and developed innovative solutions.
For our participants, this project was an opportunity to understand the importance of climate policies and to take an active role in building a sustainable future. The workshops in the project focused on topics such as waste management, renewable energy, green transport and circular economy, thus encouraging young people to develop creative and effective solutions to environmental problems.
The project was a great success not only in terms of raising the environmental awareness of the participants, but also in terms of international co-operation and intercultural interaction. Young people who face social, economic and geographical barriers also took part in this project, thus creating an equitable and inclusive platform.
We are happy to take part in this project and to act together with young people in such a meaningful work that both supports European values and raises awareness on sustainable development.
