At KUFF Sports and Education Club, we believe that collaboration is key to addressing global challenges. That's why we were proud to be a partner in the Noise Map project, an Erasmus+ initiative that focuses on raising awareness about the impacts of noise pollution and promoting environmental sustainability in urban areas.
This project, coordinated by the Riders of the Storm Association in Budapest, brought together participants from five countries: Hungary, France, Czechia, Italy, and Turkey. The main goal was to draw attention to the growing issue of noise pollution and its detrimental effects on human health and quality of life in cities. The project ran from January 1 to October 31, 2023, and involved various interactive activities, workshops, and discussions aimed at understanding and mitigating environmental noise.
Throughout the project, we worked alongside organizations such as Green Europe Environment Protection Club from Czechia, Comunità di Supereroi from Italy, and SHAFT Organization from Turkey, in an effort to educate and engage local communities about the importance of noise mapping and noise control. The activities included workshops on creating noise maps, understanding decibel levels, and learning about sound insulation techniques.
Key Activities of the Project
The project included numerous engaging activities, such as:
Mingling Game: Spider Web – A team-building game to enhance problem-solving skills.
Noise Mapping 101 – An educational session on how to create noise maps and evaluate noise levels in urban environments.
Noise Meter and Sound Thermometer – Fun yet informative activities that helped participants understand the different sound levels in their surroundings.
Green Roof Workshop – A hands-on activity highlighting the importance of environmental sustainability and how green roofs can support urban life.
Cultural Dictionary – A cultural exchange activity aimed at fostering intercultural dialogue by learning words from different cultures.
City Tour and Dissemination Activities – Participants explored Budapest, learning about noise pollution in the city, while also raising awareness in the local community through public exhibitions and activities.
Our participation in this project provided KUFF Sports and Education Club with invaluable opportunities to enhance our community engagement efforts and expand our knowledge on noise pollution's impact on urban life. We are also proud to have contributed to fostering a culture of sustainable living and environmental responsibility through the creation of noise action plans and the promotion of green urban spaces.
The Importance of Noise Mapping and Awareness
Noise pollution is an often overlooked environmental issue, but it significantly impacts our health and well-being. By participating in the Noise Map project, KUFF Sports and Education Club has strengthened its commitment to advocating for healthier living environments. This project has also allowed us to support the development of noise action plans in various urban areas, which will help mitigate the negative effects of noise in the future.
Through this collaboration, we were able to reach a diverse group of young people, architects, engineers, and local authorities, all of whom play an essential role in addressing noise pollution. The project also provided participants with the tools and knowledge they need to take action in their own communities and to support environmental sustainability.

We are excited to continue our work in this field and are eager to apply the knowledge gained from the Noise Map project in our future initiatives. Together with our project partners, we have made significant progress in raising awareness about noise pollution and its impact on our cities.
